Historical Note

On Wednesday, June 2, Theta Deuteron celebrated a birthday of sorts: that day marked ninety-three continuous years  of her existence at MIT.

Theta Delta Chi's Charge at MIT was first established March 21, 1890, but, failing to acquire a house, was disbanded in about two years.
A decade later (in about 1902), a group of MIT lads founded Alpha Epsilon,  a local fraternity, with the intent of its becoming a new Theta Deuteron. The new Theta Deuteron was installed on June 2, 1906.
Sixty years later, the summer of 1966 was a watershed time for the Charge: it acquired the house and land at 372 Memorial Drive. But the anniversary was not overlooked in the excitement of the move.
Of those twenty-three MIT lads, only five were still living, men by now in their early eighties. Charge President Barry Watkins, '67, sent each a bouquet of red carnations and a simple message of congratulation, noting the six decades.
He received warm replies. (One chuckled that in his eighty years no one had ever sent him flowers before!)

For Address Revisions:

M. I. T.(for all Institute mailings)
Theta Delta Chi (for all CFO, Theta Deut & Shield  mailings)
Theta Deuteron E-mail (to be listed herewith - see below)

Note: Theta Deuteron (Charge) broad mailings, as for reunions, newsletters, etc., usually use labels from the CFO. The important address to keep current is the CFO address for fraternity mail. MIT also supplies labels, but does not include nongrads (transfers, etc.) so are rarely used for Theta Deut mailings.

Access Theta Deut Alumni Addresses

1. Copy Address URL at bottom of page..
2. Replace the six "x's" with the six-letter access code. These are the first six letters of a ten-letter title: officer often addressed as "most worthy------...." during his brief tenure.
3. The rejiggered URL is the address list locator.
4. Note: all small letters. Unix server is picky & won't accept any typos.
