Close your eyes and imagine yourself in the midst of a merrily mellow group of isolated emigres in a rural village in the Odenwald (near the Black Forest), some 40+ years ago. We would have been well into a party.
Now picture two buffoons (one of whom was me) with lampshades on their heads, miming with great expression the accompanying dialogue as it emanated from a tape player hidden behind the sofa.
Enormously amusing at the time. But maybe you just had to be there.
