Shooting Spree THREE

July 15th, 2000. Yet again we jounced in jeeps - a beautiful summer day it was - to Rancho Tamanko. Richard and Ishraq, with us for a flying weekend visit between business meetings in NYC and Moving Day in Amsterdam (to London) the following Monday, joined in.
At the ranch, we skipped the Skeet Shoot on the Meadow (too overgrown), and went directly to the camper site to have at whatever there might be shootable with rifles, shotguns and pistols. Arthur provided a target, supposedly for 22's, which spun when hit, sort of a whirligig..... it stood up bravely as long as it could against a constant barrage of 30 to 45 caliber projectiles, whirling gamely when hit. Most satisfying.
This spree, which, as did the others, involved peppering not only sundry targets but trees, leaves, ponds, rocks, and embankments, alas finally aroused a normally somnolent Mother Nature, and she struck back. Arthur, Richard and Dick were the victims of a massive chigger attack, and Ishraq, on alighting from the jeep to pick up luggage en route to the airport, sprained her ankle, requiring that she be wheelchaired as well as flown to the Netherlands. But all such debilitation manifested itself only after the afternoon's shooting, which went splendidly.
