The Egret Tree

They gather at sunset
- Egrets, Ibis, Heron,
in a row along the shoreline.

There are just a few at first.  As small bands fly
in, t
hey became dozens,
then a hundred or so.

As their numbers grow
they form a second rank,
a quite neat one, along
the water's edge.

There they wait until all
are present.  It's almost dark.
