The concert
featured a pianist playing live from Texas. His image was video-cast,
but his music was produced on an actual piano right in front of us, digitally
coupled with the piano he was playing on - much like a real-time Player
Piano. |
There
was also a demonstration at the concert of computer- composed music. You
(or a schoolchild!) sketch out graphically on your screen a simple theme
or two, a notion about going up, or down, changing key, etc, and the software*
produces an amazingly creditable piece of music.

The banquet
itself was splendid, from the menu and the music to the very attractive
cast-aluminum beavers all reunees were given as favors. |
